Sk-Fun!!

I made a new Sk-Fun song and put it up on the Sk-Fun Myspace. its rather long for a sk-fun song but thats ok. The Diffrent think about this song is that i got the sk-1 drums sampled into Battery so i can arrange the drums anyway i want instead of just the presets that are in the sk-1, it is a good day. In other news, im going up to sudbury this week to hang out with the Mostapus and maybe play some impromtu shows on the rocks. Hopefully my voice is fully back by then, its working now just not as well as it could be.

Deep Dish Fiasco

It's been some time since Tyson's unfortunate finger injury, and now his voice has removed itself from his body temporarily. The dirty shame behind all this is that talent can be channelled to a single point in the body that the individual must rely on to stay in tip top shape otherwise voiding their ability to channel altogether. Some have persevered, others have cowered, all have cussed, kicked and punched things, and lost hours of sleep thinking of how they could have done things differently.

In light of recent events, the unnamed demo now featured on my Myspace page is about 60% done in terms of the writing and performance process. The working title is currently "Johnson", and the tune uses its chorus to state:

Broken fingers
lead to broke desire

Which in itself is a statement about the modern age and the ten excuses we use to communicate, masturbate, defenestrate and depreciate. While there's no doubt in my mind that technology (or the pleasure of one's self) isn't a subject I should be taking shots at, I'd like to confirm that I'm not. Rather, the whole purpose of this song is to simply make light of our dirty little world and throw out a chorus pertaining to how a concentrated aspect of our being can be taken away with say a hammer, sleeping the wrong way, or even a piping hot deep dish pizza.

Other than "Johnson", two songs entitled "Over and Over Again and Again" and "Artists On Fire" are also in the works. Which will be unveiled at the Starbucks show on the 26th? Who knows.

Also, Northern Lights Festival Boreal has a few open sign up slots for performers on the CKLU stage. Chances of either Tiny Onions, Capt. Wonderful, a combination of myself and Tyson, or what have you, signing up are unclear at this point in time.

Jelly Belly Up

Having just listened to the new Brinacombe/Moskal split, I feel a lot happier than before the compilation was on my computer. This, my friends, is the feeling of satisfaction. My definition of success. Enjoying your EP.

I've moved out of my parent's basement and into a gorgeous pink and soft yellow room (it was property of a baby in its previous life) and I do find it fitting to feel as though I'm reborn in my new surroundings. And with my arrival in Sudbury, I'm going to start my Sudbury: Rocks! concert series very soon. This is of course an extension of my obsessive pursuit of guerrilla performance style that will result in various performances all over Sudbury on alternating rock surfaces. I will pinpoint on a map my locations of attack after they occur. If you can find me, I'd appreciate it if you took my picture as a trophy of your victory over the glorious inconvenience of surprise performance. Updates soon!

There is also now a Matt Moskal CBC Radio 3 page. Look me up: http://radio3.cbc.ca/

Keep your ears peeled for more news on Tyson's "The Emoticons" EP and Capt. Wonderful's latest project.
